Register for AMS Open Science in ARM Short Course

Published: 15 November 2023

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) will host a short course featuring open science in the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility.

The short course is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, January 27, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland, before the AMS 2024 Annual Meeting. There is also an option for online attendance.

Within this short course tutorial, participants will gain a broad understanding of ARM, the open data available to the community, the data workbench that allows data-proximate computing, and science overviews of two ongoing model-observation intercomparison projects.

This course is suitable for a broad audience of atmospheric scientists, bringing together both observations and simulations, as well as deep and shallow convection.

Registration for the short course is now open. View the full course description and registration details.

To ensure that anyone who wants to participate in the short course can do so, ARM is providing financial support to cover the registration fees for select attendees. Those interested in receiving financial support must complete this application to be considered. Note: Do not register for the workshop until you receive a notification whether your application for financial assistance has been accepted.
